Hey Reader! During the holidays, I like to do everything I can to enjoy the day with my family. For me, that means making most of the food in advance! Anything I can do to reduce the amount of time Iām standing in the kitchen on the big day is welcome! Here are 5 of my favorite holiday recipes that can be made days, weeks, or even months in advance! 5 Thanksgiving Recipes to Make In Advance!
ā āāāāā Fresh mashed potatoes are amazing, but the thing that surprised me was that frozen and reheated mashed potatoes are even better! You can freeze these in serving dollops as shown above, or in a large dish for a big family function!
ā āāāāā You can make these months in advance and keep them in the freezer until you're ready to make your green bean casserole. Or you can freeze-dry them and keep them at room temperature. Be sure to make double or triple the amount, because they are so delicious that they disappear quickly!
ā āāāāā If you love sweet potato casserole, kick things up a notch this year by making your own homemade marshmallows! We've been using these on our sweet potatoes for almost 20 years! They are fluffy and completely free of corn syrup. You can make them up to 6 months in advance, cut them, and then store them in the freezer.
ā āāāāā You can make rolled or pressed pie crusts, so you have everything you need without having to make it fresh on the day! I like to have a few of each, several pie pans filled with crusts, and a few rolled crusts that can go on top for a double crust option!
ā āāāāā I shared this earlier in the week, but it deserves a spot here too! Perfect for making in advance and canning, this is the ultimate classic cranberry sauce. It's not only delicious, but it also makes a beautiful centerpiece to your holiday meal! You can also just make it 4 days in advance and keep it in the fridge without any canning! |
